Decor (stage setting) for the theatre play "God in France" (God in Frankrijk) written by Nathan Vecht for the travelling theaterfestival de Parade

  • The play "God in France" tells the cynical story of a dutch couple moving to France because of their dissatisfaction with the political situation in Holland. In our decor we tried to represent a traditional France Gites as well as the hurry and thoughtlessness of the couples' escape to France. We built the "house" out of all different kinds of domestic items you carry with you in case of an emigration. Sheets, pillows, photoalbums, the little porcelain elephant you got from your aunt, etc. Including the props used in the play. All in white to create a quiet image and provide a sharp contrast with the black background.
